Join Us For a Vernal Pools and Grassland Tour!

We are thrilled to announce that this spring we are offering tours of the Merced Vernal Pools and Grassland Reserve! Please join us on a tour of the reserve, to learn more about UC Merced’s Natural Reserve System, and expereince displays of blooming flowers like meadowfoam and wild hyacinth and observe birds like the red-tailed hawk and Canada goose, among other wildlife! Bring a day pack with a water bottle, camera, hiking boots, and a hat. The path may be wet and muddy so come prepared for the elements with a raincoat and water-resistant boots. Meet at 9:30am at the Reserve entrance gate at the intersection of Rancher’s Road and Ansel Adams Road on the UC Merced campus (5200 N. Lake Road, Merced, CA, 95348). The tours will last 1 hour and 30 minutes and will end at 11:30am. These tours are free and open to all UC attendees as well as non-UC attendees. A waiver will be required for all non-UC attendees and will be provided at the beginning of the hike. Please see our Events page here for a list of spring time tours in 2022 and/or register for a tour here. For questions, please contact MVPGR@ucmerced.edu
